University of Wroclaw ก่อตั้งมาเป็นเวลามากกว่า 300 ปี เป็นหนึ่งในสถาบันการศึกษาที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศโปแลนด์ ด้วยสาขาวิชาที่เปิดสอนครอบคลุมทุกแขนงความรู้ และมีศิษย์เก่าที่ได้รับรางวัลโนเบลมากถึง 9 คนด้วยกัน
สาขาวิชาที่มีความโดดเด่นที่สุดคือสาขาการวิจัยวิทยาศาสตร์ซึ่งทางมหาวิทยาลัยมีเครือข่ายนักวิจัยระดับสูงอยู่ในสถาบันต่างๆ ทั่วโลก จึงได้รับทุนในการทำวิจัยเพิ่มมากขึ้นถึง 80%
นอกจากนี้ยังมีส่วนงาน The Academic Incubator of Entreprenuership ซึ่งจะช่วยเหลือนักศึกษาที่อยากเริ่มต้นเปิดธุรกิจของตัวเองในด้านการให้คำปรึกษา การจัดสัมนา พื้นที่การทำงาน และช่วยลดต้นทุนธุรกิจบางส่วนอีกด้วย
